MERCER COUNTY, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol has provided an update on human remains found in rural Mercer County.

The remains have been identified as those of Sebastian Tyrese Husted, a Black man who was 24 at the time he was reported missing by the Centerville, Iowa Police Department.

The patrol says Centerville police reported Husted missing in early 2018. A turkey hunter discovered the remains on April 23 after 3 p.m. on private property.

The investigation continues. People are being asked to contact the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office or the Centerville Police Department if they have any information which might aid in the investigation.
