Fatal Car Accident In Nodaway County

A one vehicle accident resulted in the death of a Graham, Missouri resident Saturday night.

The accident occured on Route V, four miles west of Maryville just after 11:00 Saturday evening.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Ty Willtrout of Maryville, was travelling east when he ran off the south side of the roadway.

Willtrout overcorrected and overturned his 2002 Mercury Cougar, ejecting 17-year-old Graham, Missouri native, Sydnie Messner, from the vehicle.

Willtrout was taken by Life Flight to Heartland Regional Medical Center, Messner was pronounced dead at the scene.

Passengers 17-year-old Ashley Scott of Maitland and 17-year-old Dalton Hall of Maryville were transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Hospital.

Neither the driver nor the three passengers were wearing their seatbelts.
