Kansas City Power & Light Company awarded Maryville Pride Lions Club a grant to help plant trees throughout the community as part of the KCP&L Energizing Our Environment Micro-Grant Program.
The club's application was picked out of the 150 different project applications that KCP&L had received from nonprofit organizations throughout Kansas and Missouri.
KCP&L's Director of Public Affairs, Elizabeth Danforth, says the Maryville Pride Lions Club had a well designed plan for a traditional project.
Of all the applications they recieved, KCP&L awarded almost $35,000 in different grants.
