A presentation of the proposed fiscal year 2015 budget was the main item of concern for the Maryville City Council last night.
Meeting in regular session, the council discussed the city's proposed budget which will be finalized on Oct. 13.
The proposed budget totals approximately $25.5 million which is slightly down from last year.
City Manager Greg McDanel says the total budget is slightly down from last year.
McDanel adds there are some key highlights on the proposed fiscal year 2015 budget.
In other business the council approved a contract worth approximately $15,000 with Fishnet Security for breach investigation services for the city.
Fishnet Security will help ensure that the city's financial data and information is secure from cyber-hacking.
City Manager Greg McDanel says this decision came in response from national attention the city received last October.
