Northwest Missouri State University is among the top 100 schools in the region in the 2015 Best Colleges ranking.
Northwest ranks as the top moderately selective regional university in Missouri and the U.S. News and World Report's ranks Northwest at number 80 on the list of "Best Regional Univeristies" in the Midwest. The rankings include all public and private universities in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
Northwest ranked third in the state of Missouri public universities trailing on Truman State University and Missouri State University.
Among schools in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Northwest ranks second behind the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
Northwest's enrollment is 6,573 students, as of the first day of class and includes a total of 1,333 first-time freshman.
