Preparations for Flu Season

Each year, an estimated 20 percent of the United States will contract one of the most unpredictable viruses, the flu.

This year's seasonal flu vaccine is available to the public, which will help protect against the viruses research is indicating will be most common this flu season.

Clinic Nurse Supervisor at the City of Saint Joseph Health Department, Connie Werner, says the best time to get the vaccine is before the season begins.

Again, this year's flu vaccine is now available to the public.

The St. Joseph Health Department will offer a flu vaccine clinic at the Mayes Memorial Army National Guard Armory on Wednesday, Oct. 1 from 8:30 a.m. to noon, or until supplies are depleted.
