The State Theater Returns for 26th Season

The State Theater in Mound City, Missouri begins its 26th season of entertainment for the region this weekend with a performance by The Jeremiah Johnson Band.

An "Original American Rock N Blues Band", Johnson and his band take the familiar St. Louis blues sound and combine it with the influences of Johnson's youth, such as Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, BB King, and Hank Williams.

President of the State Theater Board, Mari  Ferguson says she's excited about the upcoming season.

A complete renovation 26 years ago allowed the theater to hold frequent performances and recent updates have given the 75-year-old building more life.

Ferguson credits the success to the support of the community.
