The city of St. Joseph Animal Shelter is recieving a grant to help pay for medical expenses.
The shelter applied for and received a $400 Emergency Medical Grant from the Petfinder Foundation. The Petfinder Foundation Emergency Medical grant program assists members with a pet that needs special medical treatment to become adoptable.
The grant, along with community donations, will go toward two surgeries for a stray dog who came to the shelter with a broken leg. For more information visit stjoemo.animalshelternet.com.
