McCaskill concerned U.S. companies give proprietary information to Russia and China

Senator Claire McCaskill is raising concerns over compelling US companies to give potentially sensitive information to Russia and China in order to do business with those countries.

During an Armed Services Committee hearing Tuesday, McCaskill expressed her concerns to Lieutenant General Robert P. Ashley, Jr, who is the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency. She says she is worried about national security.

General Ashley says the point is a good one, and that the Defense Intelligence Agency does need to fix how it operates in this case.

McCaskill responded by asking for a recommendation on what the Senate - and specifically, the Armed Services Committee - could do to assist with that process.
