Missouri House seeks relief for 911 funding

A new bill which just passed in the Missouri House of Representatives last week could bring some relief to 911 funding in Missouri.

Under current law, only landlines can be taxed for 911 calls. Rusty Black, a Republican from Chillicothe, says House Bill 1456 would change the law to keep up with current technology.

Black says the bill didn't pass without protest, as some legislators wanted to look into consolidation instead. HB 1456 passed through the House last week and is set to go before the Senate soon.
