Northwest Board of Regents votes to increase tuition

The Northwest Missouri State University Board of Regents voted to increase tuition during this afternoon's session on the Northwest campus. The issue was approved by a five to one vote. Northwest Vice-President of Finance Stacy Carrick says the increase will only affect undergraduate students.

Carrick adds the Board of Regents' action will allow Northwest President Dr. John Jasinski to lower the tuition increase should this year's state funding come in better than currently anticipated.

Along with the vote to raise tuition, the Northwest Board of Regents also approved an increase of 2.5 percent for room and board fees.
