City of St. Joseph announces dates for rabies vaccination clinics

The City of St. Joseph Health Department Animal Control and Rescue has set the dates for this year's citywide rabies vaccination clinics. The rabies clinics are held during the first two weeks of May at locations across St. Joseph in an effort to make the clinincs easily accessible to the community. Local veterinarians will be volunteering their time to administer vaccines to pets and Animal Control and Rescue will issue city registration tags, administer microchips, and provide dog park registrations.

Humane Educator Jennifer Loomis says this is a great way for the community to get afordable vaccines. Loomis adds that no registration is needed for the clinics, but pet owners are required to bring proof that their pet has been spayed or neutered.

The clinics are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at the following locations: May 1 at Lindbergh Elementary School, May 3 at First Church of the Nazarene, May 7 at Hosea Elementary School, May 8 at Skaith Elementary School, and May 10 at Mark Twain Elementary School. For more information about the clinics call 816-271-4877.
