Northwest Assistant Professor of Music featured on new album

New Assistant Professor of Music at Northwest Missouri State University, Joseph Tomasso is featured on a new musical album performed by the 2x3 Oboe Trio.

The album is titled "Old, New, Borrowed, Blue" and features a mix of standard classical repertoire jazz influences and new music by living composers.

2x3 focuses on bringing underperformed works to new audiences through recitals, master classes, and educational outreach opportunities. The trio was formed in 2014 with Tomasso and accomplished oboe performers Heather Baxter and Jessica Smithhorn.

Tomasso joined the Northwest faculty last fall after leaving the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music in Ohio. He has been a member of the American Chamber Winds, Florida Chamber Players, and the Gainesville Chamber Orchestra in the past.

Tomasso is working on his doctoral degree in musical arts with an emphasis in oboe performance through the University of Cincinnati.

"Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue" is available on iTunes, Apple Music, and Spotify.
