Farm Lease Law meeting to be held

University of Missouri Extension is sponsoring a Missouri Farm Lease meeting later this month. Agriculture Business Specialist Randa Doty says this is an opportunity to learn more about Missouri's farm lease laws.

"Many people don't realize that Missouri and other states are all different.  They have different laws when it comes to leases, as in termination dates - when leases start.  So this is an opportunity for people to come learn about what Missouri's lease laws say. And if they are in a lease and they want to make some changes to it, what their rights are."

Some of the topics that will be covered are current cash rent in Missouri and trends, livestock and crop share arrangements, terminating farm leases, specific items to agree on in a lease, and also recreational leases.  The Missouri Farm Lease program will be held Monday, September 17th from 6 to 9 pm at the Nodaway County Extension Center in Maryville.
