Maryville Public Library Soup and Soap for Fines Drive

The Maryville Public Library is holding a special program to help the Nodaway County Ministry Center. Library Director Stephanie Patterson says the program is called a...Soup and Soap for Fines drive.

"It allows our users who may have an overdue fine balance on their library account to clear off that balance by bringing in specific items that are currently needed at the Ministry Center.  This includes cans of soup, laundry detergent, and packaged toilet paper."

Patterson says all donated items must be unopened, unexpired, and free of major damage.  Cans of soup must be free of dents, and nutritional labels must be fully visible.  Fines eligible to be wiped clean are for returned items only.  The Maryville Public Library Soup and Soap for Fines Drive runs through September 22nd.
