Burglary bust in Chillicothe

Three individuals have been charged in Livingston County as part of an ongoing investigation into multiple burglaries and theft of motor vehicles. A 25-year-old Odessa man and a 25-year-old Kansas City woman are charged with theft of a motor vehicle, and a 22-year-old Carrolton woman is charged with theft of a motor vehicle, burglary, and stealing. Police Chief Jon Maples says the investigation partnered with the community.

"So we partnered up with the community and they provided us with some information.  And it led us to some individuals - one in Carrolton and two in Kansas City in the Odessa area.  We ended up identifying them and pulling a few of the people in.  We got some information from them, sent it to the prosecutor, and obtained warrants for three individuals."

Maples added that theft in the area has decreased since the bust.

"Yes, it's slowed down.  We haven't had a theft yet or a burglary.  And we've recovered quite a bit of property in this investigation as well that we're still working with the victims to get them their property back."

Further charges are pending, as well as a warrant on another person of interest.
