5-year capital plan for Clarinda airport addressed

The Clarinda City Council discussed and approved a 5 year capitol improvement plan for the Clarinda Airport at its meeting Wednesday night.
Clarinda City Manager Gary McClarnon says the plan is an annual task for the council.

"Every year with the FAA we always put together a 5-year capital plan for our airport.  When we do this, it does qualify us for some of the federal funding through the FAA.  Right now, the federal funding, they pay 90% and we pay 10%, so this is definitely something we try to keep on top of every year."

Items in the plan include snow removal equipment, a layout update, construction of a terminal building and design and construction of a parallel taxyway.
