Gas prices cheapest in Missouri

Gas prices in Missouri have fallen nearly four cents per gallon this last week, averaging $1.98 per gallon yesterday, according to Gasbuddy's daily survey of 3,904 stations in Missouri.
Including the change locally during the past week, prices yesterday were 19.7 cents per gallon lower than a year ago and are 39.7 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has dropped 28 cents per gallon the last month and stands 3.8 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

Senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy, Dan McTague says Missouri now has the lowet gas prices in the country.

" It's really a function or the fact that crude prices have collapsed, dropping about 25% since the beginning of October.  Of course now we're seeing the full affect of lower crude prices being felt at the pump.  And Missouri of course the least expensive state in all of our region and our entire country."

Mctague says there are a couple reasons Missouri has the lowest gas prices in the nation.
