November cold broke weather record

November was a record-breaking month for the region. That's according to National Weather Service Meteorologist Debbie Pittman.

"This was our coldest November on record.  That's just averaging the temperatures throughout the whole month and comparing it to our climate normals.  As far as precipitation, we also did have quite a bit of snowfall, not quite a record but definitely in the top five."

Pittman says December should see temperatures warm up slightly.

"Looks like perhaps slightly above normal temperatures, which would be good news for those of us who didn't really like the cold November.  We do have above average normal precipitation.  Even with those above normal temperatures, we could still see more than average snowfall.  But we'll just have to see how the systems play out as the month goes through."
