NW Board hears clean report on audit and approves funding for farm

The Northwest Missouri State University Board of Regents heard an overview of the recently completed 2018 financial audit. Vice President of Finance Stacy Carrick says the university received a clean report from the accounting firm conducting the audit.

"What that means is that our policies and procedures are in place and were being followed.  And our accounting transactions are following the accounting standard board guidelines.  And so it means everything is in place and the accuracy of our financial statements are fairly represented."

The Northwest Board of Regents also approved added funding for the R-T Wright Farm Entrance, Road Expansion and Site Improvement Project. Carrick says the anticipated cost of the project has increased from the original one million dollars approved for the project.

"We've been working with the Missouri Department of Transportation and when MODOT sent their final specifications review back, they wanted us to make those enhancements.  And unfortunately, it increased the cost of the project by $200,000."

Carrick says the university will cover the added cost through reallocation of funds from the campus master plan and donations from the Northwest Foundation.
