Shopko Closing Albany Store

Albany, Missouri will soon be losing one of its anchor stores in the downtown square.  Wisconsin-based retailer, Shopko, has announced their Albany location is one of 39 stores in 19 states that will be closing.  Liquidation sales at the 39 stores begin tomorrow with stores closing by the end of February.  Shopko officials estimate each store has 10 to 25 employees with between 400 to 1,000 positions to be eliminated system-wide through the store closings.
