SSM St.Francis purchased by Mosaic Life Care

SSM St. Francis Hospital in Maryville has been purchased by St. Joseph-based Mosiac Life Care. The purchase agreement was finalized Friday afternoon with the transfer of ownership of the Maryville Hospital from St. Louis-based SSM to the St. Joseph health-care system. The agreement includes St. Francis Hospital and its affiliated outpatient, home care, hospice and medical group services and locations, as well as the SSM Health Preschool and Child Care. According to a news release from Mosiac, it's anticipated Mosiac will officially assume operations of those faclities in the spring of 2019.
As part of the agreement, SSM Health and Mosiac have mutually agreed that the "St. Francis" name would not be a part of the transition of ownership. When Mosiac assumes operations, the Maryville hospital will become Mosaic Medical Center-Maryville.
No further terms of the agreement are being released at this time.
