Tapps Recognized By Board of Regents

A Northwest Missouri State University assistant athletic trainer was recognized during last week's Board of Regents meeting for her efforts to save a life of a Northwest track and field athlete. During a November practice at the Hughes Fieldhouse an athlete collapsed, lost consciousness and stopped breathing. Christy Tapps began CPR on the athlete and used an automated external defibgrillator to revive his heart. Northwest Board of Regents President Dr. Pat Harr says Tapps did an excellent job responding to the situation.
