Traffic accident leads to serious injuries

 A Skidmore woman suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle accident yesterday afternoon in Holt County.  According to a report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, a van driven by 24-year-old Jessica-C-Kirk of Skidmore was southbound on Missouri Route 113, three miles north of Maitland, while a tractor-trailer rig driven by 56-year-old Nicky-J-Wawrzyniak was making a left turn onto Route 113 from a private drive.  Kirk began braking for Wawrzyniak's truck before colliding with the vehicle.  Kirk was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment of serious injuries.  The accident was investigated by the Missouri Highway Patrol and the Holt County Sheriff's office.
