After posting a dominating second half Thursday night in Topeka, Northwest Missouri State is moving up in the AFCA Division 2 Coaches' Top 25 Poll.

The Bearcats jump up from No. 6 to No. 4 with one first place vote in this week's rankings.

Texas A&M Commerce is No. 1 in the nation after receiving 26 first place votes. Minnesota State is No. 2, followed by Indiana (PA) at No. 3.

Northwest's move into the top five comes after a 38-17 win over Washburn. The 'Cats outscored the Ichabods 24-3 in the second half to improve to 2-0 on the season.

Other MIAA teams in the top 25 include Fort Hays at No. 17, Central Missouri at No. 20 and Pittsburg State at no. 23. The Tigers were ranked fifth, but a loss to Missouri Western dropped them 12 spots in the poll. The Mules lost to Hays in week one, but moved up one spot in the poll with a bounce-back 62-10 win over Northeastern State. Pittsburg State entered the top 25 after a 34-13 win over Emporia State.

Northwest Missouri State returns home Saturday for Family Weekend. The Bearcats host Missouri Southern at 1:30pm. Pregame on KXCV-KRNW will begin at 12:30pm.
