Woerth joins exclusive club for Bearcat volleyball

Northwest Missouri State volleyball coach Amy Woerth joined an exclusive club last weekend.

Woerth earned her 100th win as the Bearcats head coach by knocking off Newman University in straight sets Saturday. She's only the fourth head coach to reach the mark for the Bearcats.

She credits everyone around her for reaching the milestone, including assistant coach Alana Wittenburg who has been with Woerth throughout her tenure at Northwest, and all the players along the way.

"It's a good time to pause and look back on the years and how far we have come," Woerth said. "When you think about what we've done, it's all because all of us have done it. So I think that's the true meaning of why I do what I do – just pass that on and make them the best that they can be."

Woerth is in her seventh year leading the Bearcats. She's currently five wins behind Susie Homan for third on the Northwest all-time wins list.

Northwest makes its home debut Friday night at 6 o'clock against Lindenwood.
