Facade project & airport improvements discussed during Clarinda City Council meeting

The Clarinda City Council met last week at the Lied Public Library. City Manager Gary McClarnon said the council approved a pay request for the city Facade Improvement Project.

"With this pay request we're right at the 90% marked complete with that project.  The revised completion date now because of weather is going to be April 30, 2019.  There's a small extension on that, but being 90% complete, they are still moving along on some of these nice days, they are actually working on the project.  We are hoping to get done before the April 30th date."

The council also appointed Marty Iske to the Airport Committee, which meets periodically to discuss improvements to the airport.

"Mr. Iske is a pilot with AirMethods,  which is the emergency helicopter service that the local hospital uses.  So it makes sense to put him on committee with the rest of them."
