Rock Port to hold Public Service Commission hearing

The Missouri Public Service Commission staff will hold a local public information, question and answer session starting at noon this upcoming Monday in Rock Port at the University of Missouri-Atchison County Extension office  located at 201 East Highway 136. Spokesperson for the Missouri Public Service Commission Kevin Kelly says it is an opportunity for people in the area to comment on a case that is before the Missouri Public Service Commission filed by Ameron Missouri.

"Ameron Missouri is seeking commission authority in what we call a certificate of convenience and necessity which would authorize them to construct, own and operate a wing generation facility in Atchison County.  So we are holding a local public hearing to giving people in the area an opportunity to comment on the case that is currently before the public service commission."

Formal evidentiary hearings will be held in February.
