Second Harvest Community Food Bank, based in St. Joseph, will have a community listening session in Maryville next week. The event on Thursday, January 10th at the First Baptist Church, located at 121 East Jenkins. Communications Coordinator Blake Haynes says this an opportunity for the community to be heard.

"It is open to the general public, but pulling in members from the community to basically get feedback on the services and the programs we offer within the Nodaway County area."

Haynes adds they want to obtain new information about what they are doing well in the area or what they need to focus on more.

"What are we doing well in the area?  What are we need to improve upon?  Our communication pieces, our message and our programs are they being well communicated to the public.  Our partner agencies in the area.  And just things such as that so that way we can to take this information, this feedback and develop a 5-year strategic plan to basically better service our 19 counties."

The Community Listening Session is from 1:30-3 p.m. Thursday, January 10th at the First Baptist Church, 121 East Jenkins Street in Maryville.
