Being aware of the dangers of downed power lines remains important as another season of winter storms get underway, according to the Nebraska Public Power District. Media Relations Specialist for the Nebraska Public Power District Grant Otten says in the winter season, there a few things that can cause downed power lines.
Otten says there are several ways to stay safe from a downed power line but the most important one is to stay away because the ground could be charged.
