22-year-old Olathe man seriously injured in accident

An Olathe, Kansas man is seriously injured after an accident last night south of Maryville.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 22-year-old Atanasio Harris-Ham of Olathe was southbound in the Northbound lane of U.S. Highway 71 approximately 7 miles south of Maryville at 8:51 p.m. yesterday. Harris-Ham's van struck a northbound truck driven by 26-year-old Kevin Grant of Raytown, Missouri and travelled off the west side of the roadway and into the median. Grant's truck also travelled off the west side of the roadway and into a ditch. Harris-Ham was seriously injured in the accident and taken by ambulance to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. Grant had minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to SSM Health St. Francis Hospital in Maryville. The accident was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Nodaway County Sheriff's Department.
