Agriculture & Food Literacy Summit takes place March 14th

Northwest Missouri State University's School of Agriculture will be hosting their second annual Agriculture and Food Literacy Summit on Thursday, March 14th at the Conference Center at Mozingo Lake Recreation Park. The summit is intended to bring in educators, producers, industry professionals, and students - specifically middle school-aged students - for a discussion on helping young people better understand and appreciate the food system.

The summit will feature speakers Davin Althoff, division director of agriculture business development for the Missouri Department of Agriculture, and Kate Lambert, director of marketplace education and engagements for FCS Financial. The schedule also includes panel discussions with "agri-preneurs" and with Northwest students discussing their food choices.

The Agriculture and Food Literacy Summit begins at 7:00 a.m. with a pancake breakfast featuring Northwest Director of Athletics Andy Peterson as the keynote speaker.
