The Brownville Concert Series will celebrate the beginning of its 2019 season later this month. The season will open with the Rastrelli Cello Quartet performing "From Brahms to Beatles" Sunday, March 31st at 4 p.m. Board Chairman for the Brownville Concert Series John Lauber says this performance and the season will feature a variety of music.

"We try to reach a wider spread of ages as possible from somebody who might be called a millennial through somebody who's in their 9th decade.  We try to have a cross-section of musical styles, too.  All the way from classical music to jazz to folk music and that kind of thing."

Lauber adds the Brownville Concert Series has developed a reputation as a good place for performers.

"This is our 29th season and over those years we've established a reputation where the artists are treated well here and they love coming to a place where the people are interested in meeting them and talking to them.  Sometimes when they perform in the big city, you know, the people just come to show and they don't hang around.  They're not really interested in getting to know a performer in an informal setting.  So it was a good two-way street for us."

The Brownville Concert Series will have a come-and-go event to introduce the season from 5:00 to 7:00 this evening at the Dusty Trails Restaurant in Brownville.  The 2019 season begins Sunday, March 31st at 4 p.m with a performance of "From Brahms to Beatles" by the Rastrelli Cello Quartet.  For tickets, visit brownvilleconcertseries.com .
