Chillicothe Council presented with good financial news

The Chillicothe City Council presented the 2019-20 Budget at the last Chillicothe City Council Workshop. City Administrator for Chillicothe, Darin Chappell, says the budget is approximately $18 million in revenue and expenses.

"It is a balanced budget which allowed us to put approximately $230,000 towards the unrestricted general reserves, which is a good addition to the city's reserve holdings."

Chappell says there is $1.7 million worth of street projects due to the extreme winter weather damage. Revenue streams are up compared to last year so the financial outlook is still positive.

"We're coming in right at 1% above last year's revenues for the city as far as sales tax and other revenue streams.  So we continue to be in good financial situation."
