The Missouri Department of Transportation reports that Route 59 in Buchanan County is closed from Rushville, Missouri to Atchison, Kansas, including the Amelia Earhart Bridge due to flooding. Drivers can use U.S. Route 36 into Kansas as an alternate route.
MoDOT is urging everyone to monitor conditions in their area, heed all evacuation notices, and never enter a water-covered roadway or drive around barricades.
If you come upon a flooded roadway without barricades, please report it to MoDOT by calling the Customer Service line at 8-8-8 ASK MODOT.
