Private pesticide applicator training to take place Thursday

Private pesticide application training will be held for area growers at the Holt County Extension Center on Thursday.  Agronomy Specialist Wayne Flanary says the training covers everything from procedures to safety.

"Water quality, ground water, river sod up, application procedures, cleaning the sprayers, safety for yourself.  A whole host of things."

One must be an agricultural producer, 18 years or older, to obtain a pesticide applicator license. The only material required for the training is the training manual which will be provided for a fee unless you bring your own manual to the training. The license is required when applying new dicamba products.
