Second Harvest assisting flood-affected locations

Second Harvest Community Food Bank has utilized its resources to assist those facing flood losses in Northwest Missouri. The food bank has provided water to Holt County to distribute among community members. The bank has halso provided canned goods and other resources to flood affected locations. Communications Coordinator with Second Harvest, Blake Haynes, says, in times of crisis, Second Harvest is happy to step up.

"Unfortunately, when it comes to times like what we're dealing with right now, it increases those that are in need of our services.  But we're happy to be here and be able to provide our services and help those that are in need.  Like I said, in these times, it does increase that number, but we're just kind of bearing down and making sure that everyone is getting those services or has access to them basically."

Second Harvest is hosting a Mega Mobile food drive this afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 and is open for donations Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Those interested can also donate online at shcfb.org .
