Weather service says cold, average & rainy, then cold again

Northwest Missouri is experiencing more cold weather this week. Meteorologist for the National Weather Service Jarred Leighton says it will take awhile for warmer weather to get back into the area.

"The average for this time of year is about 50 degrees - mid 40s is probably about average.  We're not anticipating even average warmth at least through the rest of the week.  There's a chance we could see gradual warming as we get towards the end of the week.  And maybe Saturday we'll break into closer to a normal temperature pattern, but it'll probably be short-lived.  We should see some rain and maybe some thunderstorm activity, but cold air is going to come back in after that."
