A St. Joseph, Missouri woman is in serious condition after a one vehicle accident Saturday night. Avery L. Pena, a 29-year-old from St. Joseph, was westbound on Pickett road and attempted to turn north onto 85th road when she began to skid and slide across the roadway and struck an embankment. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels facing north partially on the roadway. Pena and her three-year-old passenger were transported by private vehicle to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. The incident was assisted by Corporal A.J. Webb.
