MODOT reschedules I-29 closure


FAUCETT, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Transportation has rescheduled a major detour. MODOT says I-29 was supposed to be closed in both directions between the towns of Dearborn and Faucett for 24 hours on Jan. 24 and 25.

That's now been rescheduled for Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. The closure is so that crews can safely demolish the old Route 116 bridge over I-29. MODOT officials said the closure will begin at 10 p.m. Friday with plans to reopen at 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Drivers are encouraged to follow the detour signs or find and alternate route. Work to replace the Route 116 bridge will last through May 2020.
