Study finds Midwestern residents are on the move

ST. LOUIS - Home is where the heart is, but some in the Midwest may not feel like their heart is here anymore. American moving and relocation company United Van Lines recently released it's 2019 National Movers' Study.

The study ranked the top 10 states where the most residents have moved out. Coming in at #5 on that list was Kansas, while Iowa came in at #10.

As for Kansas and Missouri, the study shows a balance of residents moving inbound and outbound of the states. The survey results show two reasons for the Midwest exodus. 22.8% desired to retire elsewhere while 51% moved for a new job or company transfer.

The United Van Lines study found that more Baby Boomers moved than any other age group last year.
