JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Gov. Mike Parson has announced an appointment to Northwest Missouri State University's Board of Regents. Lydia Hurst, of Tarkio, will fill the seat vacated by Dick Smith, of Bethany.
Hurst earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwest in 1996. Hurst has been a member of the Tarkio R-1 School Board since 2013 and previously served on Northwest's Board of Regents from 2003 to 2013.
The term for Hurst is scheduled to end Jan. 1, 2025. Before her appointment becomes official, the Missouri Senate must confirm it.
