ATLANTIC, Iowa - As we slowly approach Summer, it may be a good time to think about limiting plant growth in your pond. Although a pond requires aquatic plants, too many can cause an imbalance and limit the fish population.
Fisheries Technician with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Darcy Cashatt told KXCV/KRNW that there are more than a few ways to do this.
Cashatt says other methods include lowering water levels and herbicides are great ways to reduce aquatic plants. For more information visit the DNR website at www.iowadnr.gov/ponds.
