MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a Tarkio resident is dead and another seriously injured in a wreck that happened at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 46 near Glacier Road, three miles west of Maryville.
The Patrol says 31-year-old, Elizabeth Merriett was eastbound in a 2004 Mercury Monterey when she crossed the center line and traveled off the side of the road striking a utility pole.
The vehicle overturned multiple times causing the passenger, 37-year-old Neil Minor, to be ejected from the vehicle. He wasn't wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Merriett was transported by LifeNet to KU Medical Center with serious injuries.
