Free fishing in Iowa this weekend

DES MOINES, Iowa - Iowa residents can fish without having to buy a license this weekend as a part of the Iowa Department of Natural Resource's free fishing weekend.

DNR Chief of Fisheries Joe Larscheid told KXCV/KRNW that the weekend provides the perfect opportunity for Iowans to discover a hobby they didn't know they had.

Larscheid urges residents before they head out to check and see what Iowa lakes are stocked with which fish at iowadnr.gov/fishlocal.
