MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Nodaway County Peaceful Protest, organized to remember the life of George Floyd will now be a virtual event.
The Nodaway County Sheriff's office announced the decision was made by organizers who wanted to ensure the welfare of the community.
Organizers wrote on Facebook that the decision was made after they received a "concerning amount of threats."
The virtual event, which will feature an open dialogue between organizes and officers regarding racism and police brutality, will now be live-streamed and broadcast on the Nodaway County Sheriff Department's Facebook page.
