CHARITON, Iowa - For the next two months, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources is asking Iowans for a little bit of help.
As the DNR attempts to make its annual turkey population estimates later this summer, the department wants residents to report wild turkey sightings to their website.
DNR Forrest Wildlife Biologist Jim Coffey told KXCV/KRNW that the data recorded helps the department monitor population trends and make potential adjustments to hunting regulations.
