New Albany R-3 Superintendent easing into a role

ALBANY, Mo. - After a months-long search for the next Albany R-3 Superintendent came to a close last month, the school board's pick is now settling in to the new role.

Dustin Freeman told KXCV/KRNW that he's hopeful he can be a long term solution for Albany, and that the district can be the same for him.

"Getting to know the community, getting to know the staff and students here, and becoming a part of the school and community culture. Just becoming invested here in Albany is the main goal right now," said Freeman.

Freeman adds that one of his first missions as superintendent will be determining what a return to classes this August might look like amid the pandemic. Freeman has been an administrator in school districts for much his career.
