CLEAR LAKE, Iowa - Iowa's statewide teal-only hunting season begins today. Only three species of teal are allowed to be harvested during this 16-day season.
State Waterfowl Biologist for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Orrin Jones told KXCV/KRNW that teal migration in Iowa is hit or miss depending on weather conditions and habitat, so hunters should prepare.
The season runs through Wednesday, September 16. Shooting hours begin at sunrise. The daily bag limit is six teal with a possession limit of 18.
