BOONE, Iowa - Dove hunting season begins today in Iowa.
Upland Wildlife Biologist with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Todd Bogenschutz told KXCV/KRNW that the destructive sheer winds across the region last month may have resulted in additional ground for doves, who favor flat land with small grains.
Dove season runs through November 29. Daily bag limit is 15, with possession capped at 30. More information is at iowadnr.gov/doves.
